Mini Grants

Mini Grants fund schools, PTAs, and community groups to encourage safe walking and biking to school.

Who Can Apply?

All public and private K-12 schools and PTAs within the City of Seattle and other nonprofit groups can apply. We accept applications on a rolling basis.

What We Fund

Funds can be used for a variety of programs, including (but not limited to):

If you’re interested in the programs below, please check out our Walking and Biking packages and place an order! If our packages don’t include the items you’d need to support your event or program, you’re welcome to apply for a mini-grant so you can customize your supplies.

Unfortunately, we are unable to fund bicycles at this time.

Application Process

Application Step Details
Application Deadline We accept grant applications on a rolling basis, which means you can apply at any time.
Application Materials Grant applications must be submitted with a Principal Letter of Support. What is a Principal Letter of Support? We are looking for a letter from the Principal of your affiliated school that indicates that they are aware of and in support of the project(s) that your organization is applying for funding for. This letter of support can be brief, but should identify the proposed scope and your organization's involvement in carrying out the project(s).
Application Reciept Notice You should expect to hear back from the grant coordinator within one month of your application submission.
Awards Up to $1,000. One applicant can receive one grant per year.
Grant Reporting Final Reports are due one year from the date your grant is awarded. These simple reports are completed within the grant system.
