Say "Hello" to Seattle's new Waterfront Park

Yes, indeed - Pier 58, formerly known as Waterfront Park, is being demolished, and an exciting new public space extending from Pioneer Square and the Stadiums to Pier 62 is on its way.  

After more than a decade of public input, the Seattle waterfront is on its way to becoming a 20-acre park and lively mixing ground that embraces our working waterfront while restoring the health of the nearshore environment.  

Seattle's central waterfront is being transformed into a vibrant public park with lush gardens, open spaces, and elevated views of Elliott Bay. Waterfront Park will be a lively, beautiful place to access free public programming and events including live music, performances, festivals, yoga, soccer, ice skating, and more. Designed to be environmentally friendly, the park's plantings will filter rainwater, improving water quality and helping salmon survive their annual journey along the shoreline.  

Through an unprecedented partnership between the City and Friends of Waterfront Park, Waterfront Park will be a vibrant public park with maintenance, public safety, and programming/activation. For construction details and project updates, visit the Office of the Waterfront & Civic Projects.
