Fall 2023
Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) completed phase one of improvements at Marra-Desimone Park and the park is now open.
Planning and initial design work for phase two of park improvements, including the play area, will begin in 2023. This phase will address community/park needs and add additional amenities as outlined in the Long Range Development Plan.
Phase one of development was shaped by budget and community priorities, and included accessible pathways and walking loops, a central open green area, benches, picnic tables, drainage improvements, paved parking lot with ADA parking, new irrigation system with solar powered control system, and 80+ trees and grass plantings.
As part of the Marra-Desimone Park improvement project, SPR collaborated with SDOT on street accessibility improvements on South 7th Street and Director Avenue South.
