Longfellow Creek Bridge Replacement

Updated: September 7, 2023

Summer/Fall 2023

This project's scope is to replace the old wooden bridge that failed in the Fall off 2020 with a new steel truss bridge that will last much longer and be easier to maintain. The original bridge was struck by a fallen tree and caused it to fail structurally and partially fall into the creek. The bridge is currently under internal design review as well as undergoing the SDCI permit approval process and fish and wildlife’s - HPA over water crossing permitting. This project was originally delayed and because of the more recently added permitting requirements we were expecting to be under construction early in 2023. However we have had to adjust our schedule significantly due to the levels of permitting required by the Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife and Seattle Department of Construction & Inspections.
