Dr. Jose Rizal Park Renovation
Updated: October 31, 2023
Fall 2023
Dr. Jose Rizal Park renovations are the first Seattle Park to use our Elevate Opportunity. Elevate is a Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) initiative to elevate, diversify, and widen the platform of opportunity for everyone. It aims to strengthen the connection between park design and the community it serves, by rewarding vision and purpose, and by providing support throughout the creation for new and vital parks designs.
There were three main steps to move ideas forward for the Dr. Jose Rizal Park design project. The first and second steps are complete and we have selected Eric Alipio as the Design Partner. We are working on Part 3. During part three we will hire a consultant for design development and construction documents and continue community engagement to refine the design.
Stay tuned for more opportunities to provide your ideas for the renovations!
