Seattle Energy Code

The Seattle Energy Code is a construction code that ensures new buildings and renovations are efficient from the start. Every three years, the City of Seattle updates the energy codes that govern multifamily and commercial buildings to ensure Seattle’s buildings meet evolving high-performance standards.

With strong energy codes today, we're ensuring our buildings are efficient from the start and investing in a healthier tomorrow.

More Information

The Seattle Department of Construction and Inspections (SDCI) oversees the Energy Code. To learn more, visit the SDCI Energy Code webpage.
