We have completed four reviews of Judkins Park Station. In August 2014, we approved the schematic design for the station with a vote of 5-4. In September 2014, we reviewed the proposed support structures located elsewhere on the East Link alignment. We did not approve their schematic design. On September 1, 2016, we reviewed and approved the design development for Judkins Park Station with a condition and recommendations.

Project Description

Judkins Park Station (formally known as Rainier Station) is the only Seattle station that is part of Sound Transit's East Link Extension from Seattle to Mercer Island and Bellevue. The station, located in the center of I-90, will have two entrances. Entry plazas at Rainier Ave S and 23rd Ave S lead passengers into the station. To reach the platform from Rainier Ave S, passengers will use a stair, escalator, or elevator to reach the west entry building and then cross the tracks at the platform level. From 23rd Ave S, passengers will move through the east entry building and down a stair or elevator to the central platform. Escalators are provided at both entries in the up direction only.
