File a Public Disclosure Request

The Seattle City Attorney supports open government. In accordance with the Washington State Public Records Act, Chapter 42.56 RCW, the City Attorney is committed to full disclosure, upon request, of all non-exempt public records prepared, owned, used, or retained by the office.  Please see the Citywide Policy on Public Disclosure for further information.

Many public records are readily available on Seattle.gov - see Types of Commonly Requested Records.

Non-exempt records that are unavailable on Seattle.gov may be obtained through a public disclosure request. 

Making a Public Disclosure Request

Requests for records should be submitted through the Public Records Request Center, an online public portal that gives the public the ability to review FAQs, submit requests, make payments, download records, monitor the status of previously submitted requests, and communicate with City public disclosure officers.

While requestors will continue to have the option of paying for and collecting records in person or by mail, using the Public Records Request Center is strongly encouraged.
