Seattle Animal Shelter Funds
The shelter has three funds set up to accept your donations.
General
This fund gives the shelter the ability to direct funds to the shelter's most urgent needs.
Help the Animals Fund
Love a mutt? You'll love this fund. Your donation is put to work in numerous ways to promote animal welfare. Our top priority is to rehabilitate animals that are the subject of cruelty and neglect. Donations to this fund pay for veterinary care for shelter animals along with promoting educational outreach to prevent homeless, unwanted and abused animals. This fund also supports the shelter's foster and volunteer programs ensuring that each animal receives loving care while at the shelter.
Pet Population Control Fund
Loving pet owners are responsible pet owners. The best way to prevent unwanted pets is through spaying and neutering. Since 1996, your donations have helped our municipal Spay and Neuter Clinic pay for the spaying and neutering of pets owned by low-income families. Donations are also used to educate the public about spaying and neutering along with purchasing the latest, safest surgical equipment.
Please consult your tax advisor to find out if your donation is tax deductible. The Seattle Animal Shelter/City of Seattle tax identification number is 91-6001275.
We are registered with Washington State's Charities Program as required by law and additional information is available by calling (800) 332-4483 or visiting www.sos.wa.gov/charities.
